We were made to live
under the expanse of sky
surrounded by wild
as part of the eternal rhythm
on the edge of the seen and unseen
We depend on the wilderness
The wilderness depends on us
The Ontario wilderness is known for its giant pines, expansive skies, and browny blue waters. It is known for the howling of wolves, bats skimming across an evening lake, or turtles bathing in the sun. But this landscape in not only beautiful, it is fragile.
In Ontario alone over 230 plant and animals are at risk and this number grows yearly. This loss effects food chains and landscapes, the forest floor and the howling wolves, the painted turtle and the wild flowers. Climate change, invasive species and habitat loss threatens the wild we love.
